About Mediflowly

Mediflowly was founded by healthcare operations and EHR integration specialists who watched house supervisors manage 300-bed censuses from printed sheets while real-time data sat unused in Epic and Cerner.

How Mediflowly Started

Hannah Bergstrom spent three weeks on-site at a 280-bed community hospital in the Twin Cities observing house supervisors during the 11 p.m.-to-7 a.m. shift, watching them manage bed assignments using a printed census sheet updated by fax-received discharge notifications while the Epic ADT dashboard sat open but unread because it required four clicks to find a single bed status.

What Hannah observed was a data access problem, not a data availability problem. Epic and Cerner contained everything a supervisor needed — discharge-readiness flags, pending transfers, OR case completions, infection-control requirements. But the system surfaced that information across six separate screens designed for clinical documentation, not for the decision a supervisor makes every 20 minutes: which available bed should receive which waiting patient right now.

Hannah and co-founder Marcus Lindqvist built a read-only Epic ADT dashboard that surfaced the next-8-hours discharge prediction for each unit on a single screen. Two charge nurses at the pilot hospital adopted it within the first week and asked immediately whether it could also integrate the OR schedule to predict PACU overflow.

Mediflowly now focuses exclusively on the supervisor bed-assignment decision loop for 150-600-bed regional health systems, integrating Epic, Cerner, and Teletracking rather than expanding into discharge planning or case management tooling.

Mission

Give regional health systems the supervisor tools to assign the right bed before boarding starts.

What We Are Not

Mediflowly is built for regional health systems with 150 to 600 licensed beds. If your health system has a dedicated patient-flow operations team and an enterprise throughput platform already running at the Epic Capacity Management tier, Mediflowly is not the right fit. The same applies to critical-access hospitals under 50 beds, where the patient volumes and staffing models require a different approach.

Mediflowly is purpose-built for 150-600-bed regional health systems. We do not serve large academic medical centers with dedicated patient-flow operations teams, nor critical-access hospitals under 50 beds.

Our Values

  • Supervisor-first decision support
  • Real data beats printed census sheets
  • 15-minute loops, not shift-end reports
  • Integrations that write back
  • Zero new FTEs to operate
